The Benchmark Rules Engine interfaces with real-time HL7 feeds and the Benchmark Data Core to produce error lists and alerts based upon rules programmed into the system.
The Rules Engine comes pre-packaged with over 200 patient data quality rules, and supports additional rules such as pre-certification required by payer, bad-habit-checking, and work activity compliance such as “get form X filled out”.
New, custom rules can be added easily, but many of the existing rules, used in combination with Benchmark’s built-in default data handler cover many important logic checks that should be done on accounts a pre-registration, registration, admit, discharge, and beyond.
