Q: A lot of companies are touting workflow and we have worklisting already. How does your solution differ?
A: We offer our unique version of workpooling, a new concept that calculates (based rules you define, your payer contracts, and historical analytics) the most important next task for each worker. Worklisting does not allow the same level of organization to maintain control of all the work under its domain and its “direct selection” nature tends to create black holes and be hard to manage. You can typically organize an inventory of work with ¼ the number of Benchmark workpools as traditional worklists. Additionally, our worker-portal with auto-commenting activity and root cause codes, real-time reminders and transfers, and rules-based knowledge alerts drive up productivity per worker by as much as 20%, instantly upon installation. Once you start using it, you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it.


Q: What do you mean by “no black holes”?
A: Using Benchmark workpooling, accounts are “sifted” through the workpools, and the unallocated accounts literally fall to the bottom. 100% of accounts are accounted for, even when they aren’t selected by any workpools. Furthermore, accounts are qualified for each work step via a pure “state analysis” meaning that the physical account position, not worker-set flags and transfers, check-and-balance work-routing, automatically. As such, even when a worker forgets to update their “core system” with a flag or doesn’t set the proper Benchmark activity code, the account still routes properly.


Q: Does your FrontOffice solution connect to your Back Office solution?
A: Yes. Both products reside on the same platform. The result is that we can not only demonstrate how changes in one area affect results in another, but installing both creates a feedback loop that takes your revenue cycle to entirely new levels of efficiency and accountability, helping you to not only identify areas of training need, but also permitting automated follow-up and ROI analysis on training efforts, special projects, outsourcing efforts, and any other change in your revenue cycle.

Q: Can I see comparisons of, and improvements in, worker productivity?
A: Yes. This is one way we can prove the considerable value added by our solution. If you opt for the Enhanced Productivity package for your product, you can get even more detailed productivity metrics which tie payment success and denial rates to other areas in the revenue cycle.


Q: Does the Benchmark FrontOffice highlight mistakes in real time?
A: Generally, missing or incorrect data is flagged at time of registration so the administrator can take immediate corrective action. Errors are “Instant Messaged” to the person committing the error, even if the data is entered into your “core” system.


Q: How to you set and revise rules in the system?
A: Rule setting and revisions can be implemented quickly by working with your Revenue Engineer or using the various point-and-click interfaces such as the Work Layout designer for workflow.
